RIP John Greene

It is with great sadness that we advise the passing of John Greene, Glasgow, Scotland, father of Caroline Greene-Parfery ADCRG, Michelle Louise Greene ADCRG and their siblings Sheila, Mary & Veronica.

John passed away suddenly from COVID-19 on Good Friday 2020. He was an avid footballer and Irish Dancer in his younger years having danced for both, Peggy O’Neill, until she moved to America, and latterly Frances Teece. He even features with a picture in one of Dr John Cullinane’s books.

John was a fervent ambassador for the promotion of Irish Culture in the West of Scotland.
CLRG extends our deepest sympathy to his family at this time.

Oireachtas Rince na Cruinne 2020 Refunds

A chairde,

Significant progress has been made over the past ten days regarding the refund of entry fees for Oireachtas Rince na Cruinne 2020.

At this stage we can confirm that 95% of entry fee refunds have been processed by the office staff and returned to teachers’ credit cards, although these may still take a day or two to appear on credit card statements due to the Easter banking shutdown.

We would advise that a total of 22 schools have not yet received their refunds primarily due to the fact that the credit cards that were used have since expired.

The office will be contacting these schools today,Tuesday April 14th 2020 to make the relevant arrangements for their entry fees to be returned via bank transfer later this week.

Once again we thank everyone for their patience during this huge exercise.
