As you are aware that due to the current pandemic, CLRG was obliged to reschedule our 50^th Anniversary Championships event to next year, which is taking place in the Convention Centre, Dublin between the 28^th March and 5^th April 2021.

We also confirm that we continue to seek proper resolution regarding the difficulties over accommodation reservations made by attendees.

Overnight we have become aware that an email from This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. has been circulated which suggests that there are only two options:

Rebook for 2021

Obtain a refund subject to an administrative charge amounting to 9.5%.

We wish to emphasise that this email has been circulated without the approval or knowledge of CLRG.

We take the view that if the rebooking option is preferred then the booking is guaranteed and there is no increase in room rates to those originally agreed.

HOWEVER, if a refund is the preferred option then a full refund should be made without the deduction of any administration fee and as soon as possible.

In the meantime, CLRG takes the view that NO individual agreements should be reached with Keynote until CLRG make a further statement on the matter.

Should individuals choose to accept either of the options above as they stand currently, then they may be restricting their entitlement to the above additional entitlements that are being fought for by CLRG.

CLRG will endeavour to obtain certainty on this matter as soon as possible.

All Ireland & Worlds 2021 Update

In keeping with An Coimisiún le Rincí Gaelacha’s pledge to keep you updated on the current crises and contingency plans, we announce the following:

Oireachtas Rince na hEireann will take place in the INEC, Killarney between 13^th and 20^th February 2021.

Oireachtas Rince na Cruinne will take place in the Convention Centre, Dublin between 28^th March and 5^th April 2021.

The proposed days only timetable for both will be published on Monday, 23^rd March 2020.

The syllabus for each is currently being progressed and will be distributed as soon as they can be ratified.

However, the Oireachtas Committee have agreed the most pressing matters as below:

1. Solo Dances will change as normal. Therefore if a dancer was scheduled to dance Reel and Hornpipe in 2020, they will be required to dance Slip Jig and Jig in 2021.

2. Dancers will be expected to attempt to qualify as normal via their primary and secondary events later in the year. However, where a qualifier for 2020 fails to qualify for the 2021 Championships, they will be able to fall back on their 2020 place.

3. The required parts of Ceili Dances will also switch.

All other decisions regarding adjudication panels, musicians will be decided at a later time.

Massive efforts are continuing to be made in regards the ongoing situation in relation to hotels.

We wish all our competitors, their families and loved ones good health during this horrible pandemic and urge everyone to continue to follow closely the advices being issued on a daily basis from their respective governments.
